1200 GSA WANTED - FOUND
Hi guys, long time no see!
I'm looking for a clean 2nd hand 1200GSA, anything from a 2008 upwards, can you please keep an ear out.
Cheers
Hi Wynand,
Well glad to see you n Elzanne are evolving true to pattern.
You skipped the 650 phase and now you are moving into true biking fun territory.
She'll love you for moving form the ironing board to the real seat.
Wait tills she knows you can get back-rest pads for the top box and then you'll have her on every ride.
It seems you need to skip the 2010 model, there must almost all of them going on sale now.
Good luck and hope to see you on some rides soon.
err.... you can come on rides on the 800. its still a great bike, don't be shy.

Welcome back Wynand good to hear from you again!
It seems you need to skip the 2010 model, there must almost all of them going on sale now.
Hi Andy, lekker to hear from you. Sorry, I've been out of the BMW thing for a while, why do I need to skip the 2010 model? Please advise which year models you would recommend?
It seems you need to skip the 2010 model, there must almost all of them going on sale now.
A cautionary note: there are one or two owners of 2010 models who are vociferous in their condemnation of vibration problems which appear to plague certain bikes of that year model. And rightly so, it would appear, because the problem as they describe it sounds severe and no coherent or satisfactory recognition of the problem or solution has been forthcoming from BMW.
But this problem by no means affects ALL 2010 GSA's. Just ask around - Geoff will tell you he's had a couple and they're fine, so is mine.
(Charles: can you do polls on this forum? It would be interesting to see how many 2010 owners are experiencing vibration problems).
I'm not trying to create another 2010 vibration discussion here, but it should be addressed since Andy brought it up. Apply your judgment and perhaps ask the opinion of someone who HAS ridden bikes both with and without this problem (Shane, eg??)
Full disclosure: I have a full-spec 2010 GSA for sale and it does NOT suffer from excessive vibrations or pinking.
Contact me if you want to test ride it or find out more about what the deal is.
Thanks,
Tian

I agree with you Tian.
None of the 2010 Models that I had displayed any unusual BMW 1200GS vibrations.
I would look forward to riding one so that I can see/feel/hear what it is that is being discussed.
Wynand if it vibrates as people say it does you will pick it up quickly during your test ride. If in doubt bring it to me!!!!
