value

I recently bought a 2004 with 30 000 on the clock for R46 000. According to Outsurance the value for a 2004 Dakar should be R44 900.

yours has very low km's...so i pressume you could ask closer to R50 000?

Willing buyer - willing

Willing buyer - willing seller.

There is an 06 on Gumtree for 40K

Times are tough the bikes are not moving so quickly check how long the bikes are "standing still" on Gumtree.

Trade on that bike is R37.5K to retail at R44K that is for a full house with ABS, heated grips etc.

2004 - single or twin spark

The twin spark came out in 2004 so it could be either or. Surely that would also  have a bearing on which book price listing one looked at?

Thanks all, there is also one, same model and km for R69 000

I guess there is no such thing as a crazy price, only a crazy buyer.

Correct Jolster. Most of the

Correct Jolster.

Most of the bikes that sell quickly are sold because they are priced right in the eye of the purchaser.

It is not often easy to get "retail" as per the Bike Dealers Digest when selling your bike privately. So somewhere between trade and retail should be a fair price.

I know of a Member who has just today bought an 05 Dakar with 4000kms on the clock for R37K. The bike is in mint condition but no heated grips or ABS.

I reiterate.....it is all about willing buyer and willing seller!!!!!!!!!

Somebody else might have easily paid a lot more for the bike and another might have negotiated the price even lower!!!

Hi Jolster

What did you end up asking for it?

Did you sell it?

no, still have it, think I

no, still have it, think I will keep it, it's worth more keeping it than selling it for what it's book value is.
