2nd Go Girl 1 Bike Run
Western Cape Signal Unit will be hosting our 2nd GO GIRL 1 Bike Run. This is a registered charitable fund raising event whereby proceeds will be donated to TEARS. We extended an open invitation to all motorcyclists "Bikers" to join us and have fun for a GOOD CAUSE. The Bike run is open to any licensed motorcyclist provided that he/she donates at least one item towards animals; which will be collected at the conclusion of the ride on site.
HISTORY OF THE EVENT
Western Cape Signal Unit is a small dynamic unit situated in Military Base Youngsfield. We are responsible for all ICT support for the Department of Defence in the Western Cape region. The inspiration behind this event is our Officer Commanding. Lieutenant Colonel Debbie Janse van Rensburg is a confident, adventurous, vibrant and passionate lady and an esteemed member of the Wild Dog biking forum. The event shares the name with both her KTM bike and her bakkie.
The 1st GO GIRL 1 Bike Run was hosted on 10 December 2009. Masikhuleke Upliftment Centre was the organisation of choice, where we created a memorable day for 70 children. This event made a huge difference in the lives of these children. This year we contacted the TEARS organisation and they are very exited about this venture.
