800GS fully kitted for sale - SOLD
Hi guys,
I'm selling my yellow 2008 F800GS. It has about 21500km on the clock, but the engine was completely replaced under warranty by BMW at about 19500km, so the new engine is nicely run in.
The bike is in very good condition. The bike is fully kitted and adventure ready with the following extra's:
Trax Aluminum Top Box
ABS & Heated Grips
Touratech Touring Screen
Hand Guards
BMW bash plate
SW-Motech crash bars
Wider footpegs (Wild@Heart)
Folding Gear Lever (Wild@Heart)
Adjustable Rear Break Lever like one on GSA (Wild@Heart)
12V Kit (Wild@Heart)
Orange headlight covers
Heidenau tyres (still very good condition, only done about 1500km)
Extra TKC80 back and front tyres (have done 4000km, back tyre can still do about 1500km or so, front tyre still good for many km's)
Extra Battlewings tyres (or should I say Deathwings. Can do a 1000km's or so, although I wouldn't put it on)
Adventure Designs Ultimate Toolkit that fits under seat (see http://www.advdesigns.net/f800gstoolkit.html) very cool!
It even comes with a BMW Club Cape Town Sticker!
See pics here: http://capetown.gumtree.co.za/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-scooters-...
All of this for R92500.
Cheers

Price reduced, any takers
Sold the bike today to a KTM 950 rider (how ironic).
For those who are interested, the price was R90 000
Glad you got your 800 GS sold , Wynand , and yes it was VERY ironic you sold the BMW to a KTM 950 rider
I would be very interested to know how he fairs with the GS 800 after riding a KTM ?
I'm a bit uncertain what bike to buy now. I've narrowed it down to either a 1200 GSA or KTM 990 Adventurer. The age old battle.
I haven't ridden a GSA lately, but of what I remember from my old 1200GS is that the GSA is great for road and riding long streches, but is HUGE and HEAVY. I understand the engine is more punchier now. Will contact Geoff to demo his bike. On the otherhand, the 990 ADV has a great engine, is great in the off road stuff, although not nearly as comfortable as the GSA, but definately more comfortable than the 800GS.
I think the question is for what I'll use the bike. Commuting (a lot), dirt road rides and probably some off road stuff now and then if need be (as I mainly get my enduro and off road fix from my KTM 300 XC-W plastic bike).
What to do?
Well done Wynand on selling your bike in just a week, at very close tot he asking price - having just bought an 800 myself, the previous week, I think your bike was priced right, and offered good value.
Enjoy your decision making!

The bike is "not that heavy" :P
On the other hand getting another BMW means you will stay part of this awesome club... think about it!
Good luck! it's an good feeling buying a new bike! Enjoy :-)
IMO the GS 1200 ( non -adventure ) is the perfect bike , the GSA is at least 30kg heavier , and too heavy for the more technical conditions like very steep ups and downs . And the 1200 handles like a dream
Hoekom wil jy verkoop. Iets anders in gedagte.Groete Hein.
