There have been a few posts on riders riding the city traffic with a lean to the wild side, and mention had been made of a yellow 800GS rider's traffic er 'mannerisms' Well today at +-17h33 going down Strand Street towards the station just before crossing Adderley I was witness to a display which would have made the worst of the delivery riders proud or embarrassed if their mother witnessed it. I would be surprised if he made it home without knocking a few cars. The brief flash of this rider on a yellow 800 GS with a light silver helmet, was actually not a joy to see. And although he missed cars in the glimpse I had I think there are a few unhappy cagers out there tonight. It seemed as if the rider thought it was skilled riding, my view showed it up as.... LUCK!!!! A case where luck was being mistaken for skill! The Bumble Bee colouration is perhaps appropriate as those bugs show yellow on splatting.....splat pending!!:-(

Big brother is watching
Big brother is watching .... There are few sections of Cape Town which is not covered by servailance cameras, these areas have been identified and will be covered shortly. IF one of these cagers did sustain damage to their cars they can open a case at the Police. The serveilance tapes can then be viewed to find the transgressor ..... Just getting away before the cager can get your number will not "work" any more.

Bwahahaahaha - thats priceless. A few weeks ago someone drove into the back of my just before hospital bend and did not stop. I got his license plate and went to report it to the police. i wanted to open a case of reckless and negligent driving against this person. I was shunted to 5 (yes 5) police stations. First went to Green Point, they said no I had to report it at the Cape Town office, they said, you need to go to Woodstock. There they told me to go to Mowbray, but actually directed me to Maitland. (woodstock and mowbray police depts are actually on the same road like 10 blocks apart) All the police had on this person was a name, and name of a block of flats in Plumstead. The told me the traffic dept would have more info. At the civic centre they had the same info as the police, a name and block of flats. No telephone number, no street address. Unless someone gets killed, chances of you viewing the surveillance tapes, and anything coming of it are so remote as to be unbelievable

I'm with Cloud on this - we reported a burglary to the police at Kirstenhof (a station that wins awards for excellence, apparently...), and we were served by a deaf-dumb-blind person who is victim of OBE. They collected our personal details '''3 times''' (yes, that is a three), but insufficient other information to identify the stolen goods or follow up the crime in any way. To the credit of a system that seems to have realized it is useless, they SMS the case number to you so you can submit your insurance claim. It seems that redistribution of wealth is now following more efficient means - people shop in your house, and you get paid by insurance. This is possibly more effective than being a card merchant and running tills and having cashiers and packers. My main customer seems most interested in hardware, power tools and motorcycle gloves (?) - but he values his privacy and prefers to shop after hours. ONE phone call and we had
ONE phone call and we had ALL the details a person in the club needed to follow up on an accident. YES, cops were useless. YES, the legal system let him down. A Lawyer in the club made a few calls and the guilty party paid up. Moral of the story - the cops are very likely to dissapoint you, as will the legal system. IF you persevere you CAN "get your own back".
