As this will be the 1st All the Passes and Annual Tour that I'll be missing since I joined the club, I've been keeping an eye on that thread, and in particular the group of people going in the Faster group i.e. Geoff's group. (Mac dictate perhaps a appropriately typed Geoff's name as jets).

Now reading the Faster group list, x3 names sprung out at me: namely Chris and Belinda Dunn and Olaf.
Now having had the delight of riding with these folks at various times obviously some of the nuances of the personalities are known.
Now the images that the names conjured to me
Chris and Belinda: This must be a typo!!!!!!!!!!,  There is in no way that Belinda will accept being pillion at the pace of the ride, and it's not as if Chris can't ride, you really will have to work to pass him in a pass!
IF and this is an absolutely huge IF Chris and Belinda do arrive in together in Oudtshoorn, his ribs and kidneys would be in a state of pulp, and he and Geoff's ears in a similar state…I now see they are in a different group….WISE MOVE Chris!!!! Laughing
Now Olaf: He is special, a German mit a sense of humour! He is also known by Hennie as Olive, and by most others as Water Olaf ( After his Van Zyl's Pass ride with Rony…he went as he was sure Rony wouldn't make him ride van Zyl's at 120); or as "Olaf vun tventy" as he will not exceed 120 KPH when he has knobblies on his bike, as" zay vear down too quickly above vun20".
He has on occasions, made mistakes in his precise vun tventy riding, and written at 122 but zat is the limit!
Has Olaf won the Lotto or is this a typo…. Geoff is likely to bald before Tredouw's Pass….certainly fly on the wall time!

And those in the faster group: keep your spirits up, because just as you see  Oudtshoorn in the distance on leaving Calitzdorp behind, and the smell of beer and icy Coke wafts into your helmet, drop a few gears and prepare to turn R ...for the Robinson and Outeniquia passes!!Laughing

May all going have a great and safe trip.

A wise move..!!

Yes, it is a wise move indeed for me to move groups. Those who did the Geoff route last year will gladly testify I got a right ear and head bashing for traversing the Tradouw pass in  a manner to which my dear wife objected to. Indeed such was her fury at the end of the pass that a wide berth was made by all other participants so as they didn’t get GBH on the wing nuts, that’s English for Grievous Bodily Harm to the ear holes...Lol

Chris you can still leave the

Chris you can still leave the Boss in the beginners group with Warren and sneak back across to my group on your own. We will welcome you with open arms.

Even Olaf has taken Neil's warning and put road tyres on his GSA for the weekend. Not sure why, anyone would swear it was going to be a fast ride!

I am not taking any GBH on the wing nuts for anybody else.

I have my very own provider of wing nut GBH that I take with me.
