Argus & Grape Escape MTB Races - volunteers needed

Warren Ellwood's picture

I have been contacted by Brian Becks in connection with volunteers for the upcoming Grape Escape and Argus MTB Races. The way he decribed to me what was needed was support at the various water stations to help with punctures etc. You are not allowed to fix bikes, merely to assist. So you would ride your bike to the station and spend the day helping folks that need it.

Below is the email I received from Brian, as you can see there are folks needed during the week as well. If you can assist, please contact Brian directly.

"Hi Warren

These are the details that I received from the race office, the support they need is fairly basic but we would need volunteers who are practical with their hands. I have enough guys to handle the zones at all of the starting points but need six volunteers for the 1st and 2nd March and maybe as many as 16 for the 3rd and 4th. I will supply a range of our products to each of the crew to help with the typical problems they should encounter on the day, a pair of pliers and allan key set always comes in handy for running repairs as well.

I would be happy to offer each volunteer one of our tyre repair kits as a token of appreciation for their time.

Im sure you have been involved in similar events before and would appreciate any feedback as to how we can accommodate these events.

 Thanks for your time. "
