Strange how life is. At 40 I decided to change my life, hoping to improve our quality of life. I started by loosing weight- I was in bad shape.Then Sian convinced me to buy my first mountain bike, which lead to me spending many hour outdoors.I enjoyed the Spirit that mountain bikers have and met many new friends along the way. Then one day I saw this BMW bike (F800GS) and wondered what it would be like to ride one.Once again Sian convinced me to buy one even though I had never ridden a bike ever. My Dad was always dead against me owning a motorcycle.
The bike was delivered and for the next two weeks I looked at it every night wondering if I had done the right thing.This was not a play play bike, it is the real thing.
Well the rest is history.
Now I am 50,WE are having more fun than ever before. Buying that bike and joining the BMW club has had such a huge positive impact on our lives.
It's hard to plan a weekend at home these days, just the way I like it.
You won't find a Greater Spirit easily.

I must agree with you on the club. Discovering the club 7 years ago is one of the life-changing events of the decade for me.
After the hot day in the quarry yesterday we had a chance to surprize Trevor at the botanical garden with a picknic.
Daar was koek en ander eetgoed en baie 'banter' oor alles en nog wat. Megan het die gelukwense kelees en 'n paar van ons het 'n traantjie gestort. 'n Mens kry nie baie ouens soos Trevor (ken hom ook nog nie te lank) goed en sleg maar daar is net een 50jaar mylpaal.
Well done boet. Hope you enjoyed the surprise.

What can I say,I had no idea.It was a stunning day and the weather was perfect. Thanks to all my friends who came to share this day with me.I will always have fond memories of my 50th birthday.
The BMW cake was really special.Charlies make the most awesome chocolate cake.
So much for my diet,Natalie,Warren and myself will have to train harder.
Thank you Sian for being such a great wife and Megan you make me proud to be your dad.
