A big thank you to
A big thank you to everybody involved from the organisers to every single rider. The Stilbaai ride was memorable! Especially the ride back on Sunday, stunning twisty gravel roads and the scenery was spectacular.
Here are some pictures I took… Spot the Pink ;-)

Submitted by his pillion, Roz!
Wow, it was a terrific weekend. We left from Platterkloof at 8 on Saturday and when we all met at Steers in Worcester, there were 10 bikes - 13 people all in all. Brian & Roz, Christo & Petro, Tobie, Emile, Frans, John, Magda and Klaus, oops sorry and Peter & Myrtle (on some alien bike!) Brian sorted out the route using Google Mapping System, we then went from Worcester towards Touws Rivier turned right to Montague through Koo Valley. We had lunch at the Country Pumpkin in Barrydale. From there it was a beautiful ride through Tradouw Pass to Suurbrak. Rene left us for a while and turned left when we turned right and we met him again in Heidelberg. (He left us to get dirty via a CLOSED road!) Then it was N2 to Riversdale and arriving at Stilbaai at quarter past four. 444 km exactly. Some of us were booked in at Alikreukel - rather nice B & B - No 8 was a rather huge room (5 beds for the 2 of us). It would've been so much nicer if we were all closer together. Everyone, off-road and road guys, met at Mira's for dinner after a slightly hair-raising ride in the back-up vehicle and trailer. Thankfully all the traffic cops must've left town! We had a super meal at Mira's, food was good, service excellent and company better than both. Rene's pork chop was the biggest seen by anyone - in his own words "a moerse chop!". Unfortunately the ox for the oxtail must've been scared off by the HUGE pig because the oxtail was rather small by comparison BUT delicious nontheless.
Our breakfast at Alikreukel was scrumptious.
Except for Magda and Klaus, all the road guys met up in Swellendam for brunch. Rene led the bunch from there via Bonnievale to Robertson. (Have you ever been to Bonnievale? EVERY business starts with Bonnievale - Bonnievale Motors, Bonnievale Butcher, Bonnievale Bakery, Bonnievale Drankwinkel, etc etc.) Having just had brunch, we pressed through to the purple and orange "Wimpy" in Worcester. Confusion reigned! (Tobie phoned to find out where we were - he was sitting at the Wimpy in Worcester???!!!)
Again home via Du Toit's Kloof pass and arrived home (Durbanville)at quarter past three clocking in at 810kms.
It was a wonderfully relaxing weekend and everyone said - MUST BE DONE AGAIN.
Thanks to everyone! Photos to be posted soon.

Morning all,
The
Morning all,
The overwhelming date was for the 1st & 2nd of March for this dual ride to Stilbaai.
What I now need from you all is to immediately confirm your attendance on the event schedule. Please also give me your/s + pillions names as well as whether you are riding on or off road.
Once I have these I will book accommodation in Stilbaai for the group and once this is confirmed I will immediately call for payment. There will be a slight additional charge to cover the back up vehicle/driver use of trailer etc.
Regards,
Geoff Russell.
