Do passes with names such as Robinson, Tredoux, Mitchells, Bainskloof get your adrenalin going then this Tour is for you;

It is time for us to arrange this years "All The Passes" Road Tour to Oudtshoorn. This Tour is one of the very popular Club Tours that the Club arranges to such an extent that we lay on 3 separate riding groups.

The dates for the Tour are : 11th & 12th September 2010

Destination : Kleinplaas, Oudtshoorn.

Accommodation available and costs :

12 X 2 sleepers (couples) @ R586.00 per couple B&B.

7 X 4 sleepers (2 rooms) @ R231.50 per person B&B

Dinner (Braai) @ R100.00PP

There will be a cash bar available.

Breakfast and Lunch on Saturday and lunch on Sunday is for your own account.

There will be a back up vehicle plus the Club trailer on the Tour with us : Cost per person : Members R70.00 - non members R100.00

Group 1) This very relaxed group will suite beginners or those not used to traveling the passes at reasonable speed with confidence. They stop often to take pictures and just take it really easy. It is the shortest ride. Here you will be lead by either Andy & Anne Connell or Peter O Hanlon and Anne. (Andy may be overseas). Pillions are welcome.

Group 2) Led by Brian and Roz Messenger I will call the intermediate group. Brian spends hours working out the best route for his group. They also stop regularly but ride faster than group 1. Brian welcomes pillion riders and I would suggest that many riders in this group will bring their partners with them.

Group 3) Led by myself, this is the faster group and we stop less often than the other two groups. Although it is in no way a race we really push the group trying to fit in as many passes as we possibly can. Although pillions are welcome please ensure that your passenger is comfortable through the passes at speed.
One of our lady members when asked the difference between group 2 & group 3  stated more or less as follows "The difference between these groups is that group 3 does not slow down for the passes". So if you really enjoy testing you and your bikes capabilities on the mountain passes this group will suite you.

Space is limited so you will need to book quickly.

Joining us?

You can book with me on russell@aroma.co.za

Please state whether or not you are a paid up member and in which group you want to ride as well as which accommodation option you would prefer. Once the 2 sleepers are fully booked I will automatically place you in the "shared" accommodation option.

Please note that once you have paid and you cancel your trip you will only be reimbursed if you, with our help, are able to replace yourself on the Tour.

All Passes Tour September

Hi all,

Those of you that rode in my group last year on this tour will remember the lunches we had at the Country Pumpkin in Barrydale.

I am in the process of arranging with Dereck at CP to see if we can do the same again on this year’s ride.

If you are joining my group and wish to have lunch with us, please let me know in order for me to give CP an idea of how many to cater for and negotiate a good price for a menu.

Either let me know via the website or e-mail me if you are interested.

All passes tour

Geoff, as per my email and phone call, please book for me and a mate, group 1 will do. I will be joining the club at this week's club meeting.

Is there anyone in the group that would be willing to take a pillion along (obviously she'll pay her way). A friend has just returned from the UK and had to leave her BMW behind, and suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Please let me know soonest.

Cheers,

Leon

Play dirty?

Aaaargh! Geoff, I've noticed just now it appears to be ON-ROAD only!?  Any chance of sneaking in a few dirty passes, or do we have road-bikes in group 3? I can think of quite a few VERY nice ones..... (on some of them we may have to slow down just a teeny-weeny little bit....)

Passes Tour - Fuel consumption estimation

This is my first trip with my 1200 Adventure. From the club meeting I recall mention being made of ± 590 km being ridden each day. With a pillion, what fuel consumption (e.g. km's per litre) can I expect?

All Passes Tour - Female rider/pillion replacement sought

Hi

I’ve booked to join Brian’s more languid ride on my own bike including the Country Pumpkin lunches on Saturday and Sunday.  Unfortunately I cannot go.  If anyone is interested in taking my place please pm me.  It would ideally suit a single female rider or female pillion as the accommodation is booked to share a room with another female rider/pillion.  Cloud and Neil Terry are unfortunately excluded from applying!

Although tar the whole way this is a really fun ride and an excellent weekend, I am very sad to have to miss this opportunity.

Thanks

Frances
