Cleaning engine
10 November 2009 - 12:45pm
I recently bought a 2004 1150 GS in very good condition and low mileage . 28000 kms. Except that the previous owner must have done a muddy trip and did not clean the engine afterwards . The cooling fins are brownish and normal soap and water has no effect. Any tips on how to make em as good as new ?
Thanks

Welcome to the Forum
Welcome to the Forum Arno,
PREPSOL sprayed on the motor and left for about 10 minutes then sprayed off with a high pressure hose should do the trick.
If you don't have a HP hose let me know and you can pop by my house in Bothasig one evening after work and I will try and help you clean it.

Thanks for the advice and kind offer Geoff.
I do have a Karcher and will try it and let you know.
I did use Prepsol but did not leave it on for the suggested 10 minutes.
Cheers.
