Deletion of Threads
What happened to the "Heidenau tyres are not for off road Touring" thread?
Was it deleted, and if so why, as Charles, Russ and Crackling posted some good advice!
Charles can it be reinstated please?
It seems Andy deleted the thread - which means it cannot be recovered. I'm not sure whether this means that Andy is retracting his opinion about Heidis, you'll have to ask him. Personally I would have left it as the discussion was valuable to many, and the trade-offs of durability, strength, road-holding, value for money and ease of repair are worth knowing.
Pity.
It was an interesting thread.
It was interesting, even with the purile comments
Andy.........you ARE my friend and please Im NOT questioning this fact. However a healthy open respectful debate about issues that could effect our lives like "tyres" are extreemly healthy and the perfect place to discuss such is our forum.........there was so much information for anyone in future to find reference on. Im really disappointed this thread was removed and have lost all interest in contributing when things like this happen.
And yes there are ALWAYS many different oppionions.........For crying in a bucket guys ..........other wise we'd all be riding on the same friggen tyres and they could charge us what they friggen wanted.
I really must say I'm disappointed.
Your friend. Rusty
PS Message to Charels...........Who has the right to delete threads like this on the forum and should the club not have protocol to follow before removing??????????? Your public or private reply would be greatly appreciated. Your friend. Rusty.
The committee members have deletion permission. Ideally, they should unpublish a thread, not delete it, that way you can at least re-instate it. Let me see if I can adjust those permissions quickly...
I deleted the thread because it has become an issue best dealt with directly between the manufacturers.
I scoured the net for details of the Heidenau manufacturer and could not find any link to the German producer.
The tyre itself is apparently a wonderfully effective road and off-road tyre and yet, despite this, it has inherent problems - weeping and a tad too tight a fight on the bead.
This, via Cracklin who says he is the distribution agent, is best taken to the ma nufacturer which I'm sure he is feeding back right now.
The post had served its time, it was starting to go pearshaped so I removed it.
If I knew how to unpublish it, I'd have done that.
It was my post, so my choice and I am satisfied that, over time, I will be vindicated by the feedback from riders across all marques.
This will emerge as people return from experiences.
Thanks for your email Andy
Heidi's are great Tyres...will recommend them.
