Some info for the upcoming first Dune riding course for Adventure bikes (level one)
# All makes of adventure bikes welcome (no small off-road bikes)
# This is the next step after you have done the sand course
# You must have done at least the intermediate weekend course, sand or advanced course (or be very comfortable in sand)
# The course will be on a weekday so we have the dunes to ourselves (safer, not to many 4+4’s)
# It will be a full day(8 to 4)
# We will have a base and 4+4 back-up and trailer
# There will be lunch and drinks provided
# We will run course rain or shine...
# The aim of the course is to introduce you to the basics of small and big dune riding (surfing) with focus on safety and Dune riding rules

The format of this ride is to do as many mountain passes as we can fit in over one weekend with each group doing there own route. Breakfast and lunch will be enjoyed on route.
We all eat at the same restaurant in Oudtshoorn.
Please note that there will be 2 groups and possibly even 3. The groups will be as follows :
Group 1 led by Brian : The "sedate" group.
Group 2 led by Geoff : The less sedate, slightly faster group.
Possible group 3 depending on demand, led by Anne Connell (to be confirmed) : The beginners/novice riders with less passes to cover and the slowest group.

The BMW Motorcycle Club Cape will meet at Ratange Junction at 8:30 for departure at 9:00 sharp. Please remember that a toy will give you access to the event at Maynardville. I will arrange for stickers to give you entry into that main display area. These stickers will be available at the departure point, please display the sticker clearly on your head light or screen.
Lookout for the BMW Motorcycle stand next to the main entrance from the bike park at Maynardville. At the stand you will be able to rest and leave your rider gear in safe hands so that you can explore all the exhibits.

So many rides so little time............
In order to get 2010 off to a great start, Andy, Anne, Brian and I are arranging a "Dual" ride to Prince Albert over the weekend of 20th to 21st February 2010 sleeping in Oudtshoorn. The plan was to stay in Prince Albert however good value accommodation for a large group is not easy to find in this quaint little town.
Brian's Messengers group will obviously be a "road" ride, Anne & Andy Connell have offered to take the "off road" beginners group and I will take the more experienced "dirties" group.

So many rides so little time............
In order to get 2010 off to a great start, Andy, Anne, Brian and I are arranging a "Dual" ride to Prince Albert over the weekend of 20th to 21st February 2010 sleeping in Oudtshoorn. The plan was to stay in Prince Albert however good value accommodation for a large group is not easy to find in this quaint little town.
Brian's Messengers group will obviously be a "road" ride, Anne & Andy Connell have offered to take the "off road" beginners group and I will take the more experienced "dirties" group.

At Nelson´s Creek, probably the most important course for the off-road bike rider is presented. Introduction to Off-Road Riding is a one day course which has been designed to enable the aspiring off-road rider (and even the more experienced road rider) to get a handle on the basic principles of riding an off-road or dual sport bike in a safe and controlled environment.

In the Sand Riding Course you learn to conquer the ‘sand monster’. This course, which is exclusive to Country Trax Western Cape, provides you with the skills to overcome all your fears of riding in sand.
