This introduction course to sand riding will take you to a new level of confidence in riding the dreaded sand paths and patches on your next adventure.

This step by step introduction to the finer points of handling your motorcycle in sand is conducted with safety as the paramount factor.

Riding a motorcycle in sand past the dreaded "Sand monster" is quite simple and just a few basic techniques need to be mastered. Learning from your instructor will give you the confidence initially at slower speeds and eventually at normal travelling pace.

Western Cape Signal Unit will be hosting our 2nd GO GIRL 1 Bike Run. This is a registered charitable fund raising event whereby proceeds will be donated to TEARS. We extended an open invitation to all motorcyclists "Bikers" to join us and have fun for a GOOD CAUSE. The Bike run is open to any licensed motorcyclist provided that he/she donates at least one item towards animals; which will be collected at the conclusion of the ride on site.

This is a beginners all-day ride- relaxed pace mostly off tar.

This regular Teslaarsdal ride through the Hemel en Aarde Valley is a very popular.

 

Only twenty two bikes on the ride, split into two group.

Each group with a ride leader, instructor and sweeper.

Service vehicle with bike trailer, medical support gear will follow the ride route behind the bikes.

Lunch will be in Stanford and not in Greyton.

So as to avoid major highways the route will start out in a Durbanville direction then on towards Klipheuwel.

The first re-group point will be just outside Durbanville at the Spes Bona turn off.

After Klipheuwel we turn right towards Wellington and re-group in the vicinity of Nelsons Creek

An introduction to sand and dune riding under the care of more experienced riders.  Beginners will be paired with experienced riders and will be able to experience the thrill of dune-surfing and overcome their fear of sand.

A 4x4 will establish a base in the dunes with refreshments, and there will be helpers available to help people who get stuck.

The view of table mountain from the Atlantis Dunescape is surreal and spectacular, and well worth the effort of getting out there.

So let’s rev up those Brigs and Stratton motors, oops wrong motor, Boxers, Twins, In-Line, and come along for what promises to be a great ride and a serious breakfast from all accounts.
