First steps after buying a bike?
Hi guys,
Right so I've bought the Dakar, I'm in the process of getting some kit and goodies off of the classifieds section - all in all, it's looking good.
What I'd like to know is, is there somewhere that I can read up on 'how to setup your bike'. I've read that there are various adjustments one should make for things like weight, height, etc.
Do you guys have a little 'sticky' somewhere? If not, I'd be happy to type out one :)
Hi I see you are at the quary this Saturday, come to me and we will set your bike for you.
Rony
Plus I have a full Dakar toolkit on the bike, so you will have enough spanners.
Awesome thanks Rony and Warren!
It's quite funny, this club seems a lot like a Mountain Bike Cycling Club - friendly and always keen to help. Very much unlike their counterpart Road Cycling Clubs. It must have something to do with the love for the outdoors!
Thanks Gents, I'll see you there!

@CJ, stick around and you'll find something much, much bigger than a club!

Very true. Simple words with a big meaning.
In case you don't already have these - the first add-on I bought for my Dakar was wider footpegs. They will make your time at the quarry much easier.
Mwendo, Geoff Edwards - thanks guys! I intend to stick around :)
I'm very impressed that a forum (there are VERY few that are still active after 'Facebook" reared it's head") is still doing so well - that's only possible when there's a tight-knit community.
Stephen, I'm not too sure if I do already have wider pegs or not - they seem comfortably wide, although I'm used to using SPD cleats that are not much bigger than a R5 coin ;P The chap I bought the Dakar from has made one small mod that I'm aware of - after market windsheild, so I'm not soo sure what else has been changed. We can have a look at the Quarry ;P
I'm very excited to meet you guys!
Should look something like this:
(i.e with teeth!) The stock Dakar pegs are narrower and have a rubber strip on top.
