Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...................I hate this type of bad publicity................
Hi greg I don’t know these wankers, were they on ktm’s or bmw’s that will help to narrow down where to muddy their names!
Graham do you know these guys? They don’t help our cause at all.
Cheers

Hi Peter,
On Saturday I was sitting on the stoep having a cup of coffee when I heard some loud scramblers. Instead of passing by they got louder and I realised they were on my property, by the large workshop and then I could see them negotiating my bushcut road behind the olive orchard.
That road I knew is long and very rough and a dead end so I grabbed my rifle, jumped in the old bakkie and waited for them at the top of a very steep incline.
When they came back they were battling through the cut Hackea, the one stalled his bike three or four times in quick succession and when they got to the bottom of the hill they looked up and saw me and one said “ou fouck”.
The one rode up to me and asked if they were on private land. I said yes and he apologised and said he was lost.
I called them all sorts of four letter words and told them I didn’t believe them and said they were just taking a chance and I couldn’t believe that they were that stupid. I also said they were the type who give all motorcyclists a bad name.
They said that they were staying next door, so I cut short our pleasantries and went next door and complained to Nico. Nico says they are given a map showing roads they can go on.
I have their addresses and phone numbers. Who do you know in the Hells Angels or similar, that I can ask to take a turn around their houses? Do you know anyone high up in the motorcycle fraternity that would be prepared to phone them up and give them hell for bringing the fraternity into disrepute?
In case you know them, one is a John Wileman and the other is a WS Theron.
I need to get a pump action shotgun.
Never a dull moment at the farm.
Regards, Greg.
I know a John Wileman and he's a BMW man
If what happened is an accurate account then I am most dissapionted
I know they were wrong to ride on private land, but if they didn't damage his crops or recklessly chase his animals around what is he getting so worked up about?
All he had to do was ask them to leave after all they did go up to him and apologize and not try to run off causing more damage in the process.
As I said, they were in the wrong but they approached him to apologize, is it so difficult to be nice to someone?
p.s 90% of farmers would have chatted to them and told them why he didn't want the on that part of his farm and where he didn't mind them ridding through.
My Question to GREG is what was he planning to do with the PUMP ACTION SHOTGUN
His very Bold in an open FORUM to threaten Violence

Think he should be more carefull in choosing his words.
Not cool to ride on his Farm I agree

If they were loud scramblers they weren't BMWs but from the story as told:
A few guys were given a map showing where they could ride.
They went off track (taking a chance or got lost?) and encroached on a neighbouring farmer's land.
They were obviously happy to talk if they were giving their info to the farmer, and from what I can gather they left when asked to.
Doesn't sound bad to me and I'm not sure what the problem was, though brandishing a weapon sounds somewhat confrontational and unneighbourly.
These are the guys that will cause that we will not be allowed to ride "off-road" anymore without special permits and permissions like in Europe or like the 4x4 guys on our beaches.
Takes a few monkeys to stuff it up for everybody. Its private property and that’s it, respect that.
More and more farm roads that used to be open gates are now getting locked because of stock theft etc... we don’t need hooligans to go and make it worse!
I have seen people wheelie across the farms barnyard and then they are surprised that the next Sunday they get there the gate is locked.
WTF do you expect!
Sounds like both parties were wrong.
From the letter it appears that the guys knew they wre on private land, the 'oh fok' comment.
As for the farmer - shouting abuse and armed with a rifle - well, thats not the way to win friends.
They should all be sent to their rooms without dinner.
Farmer's are bike friendly and we just have to accept that they moved into the country areas for peace and quiet away from the City and I do respect that..........There are quite a few farm gates on that route so one has to realise that means private land.......roads through the farms are their only route in most cases and although they cant really stop you on a public road we as bikers do have to realise that noisy bikes will annoy them..........even BMW have such models such G450/650's and some have very loud exhaust systems........brup brup ........ring ding ding......when going through farm roads with houses close to the public road we SHOULD be a little more considerate........to people and animals.......my 2 c

I couldn't agree more.
Ride through someones farm near their house or animals, public road or not, on your backwheel with a huge dust trail and expect to be confronted aggressively. But if someone shows consideration then that is what should be shown back.
Just my Zim$
p.s I have it on good authority that the Hells Angels are not the ones to approach with regards to bikes misbehaving. They in turn might just want to go visit farmer to "chat" further with him about his attitude towards bikers. The MAWC now that might help.
And he is of the opinion that all motorcyclists are the same in their attitude and it is incidences like that that give him fuel for his thoughts and the fact that he thinks the "Angels' will sort his problem out ???
He was just angry as his mrs probably gave him a hard time ?????
Who knows............
Violence begets violence and it solves zilch !
(except in Malema's case ....in whose case I will just set that other cop with the unregistered vehicles to ride over him! )
I am a 45 year old business man from Cape Town, who entered the farm next to Bonniedale totally innocently, as there was no gate and the road seemed to continue onto the said farm, once Wynand and I realized that we could not access the trail on the opposite of the river we turned around to be met by the farmer and his gun, he swore at us and threated us with a firearm, we apologized to him and explained that we got lost and immediately left his properly and returned to Bonniedale farm, where I met with him and the owner of the farm, I immediately apologized to the farmer and owner of Bonniedale again and said that if I could turn back time I would. I then shook the farmers hand and thought that was the end of the matter.
I was then informed by a client of this posting on your forum.
I would like to Request that Peter recalls his statement calling us wankers as he does not have all the facts, secondly I will be consulting with my legal advisors about the incident and the fact that the farmer threatened us with a firearm.
I have never been a member of the hells angels and consider myself an eco friendly motorcyclist.
No matter what side of the story one is inclined to prefer, there can never be an excuse for threatening with a firearm.
Thanks for the update jwbmwza.
It might not mean much, but I totally agree with PeterO.
Hi Tbk
You should know me better than that !
Safe riding

Hey John,
Did say "IF" the facts were accurate.... Happy you told your side of the story:-)
But then there was that incident with an Alfa GTA near N1 City......
