Ladies Road Skills Basics Training Session
Date: 25 June 2011
Time: 08:30 - 12:00
Venue: Montague Gardens area - will confirm by email once booking is received.
Convenor :Max Lange
Includes improving basic road skills such as cornering, emergency braking, etc
So if you are a lady and are new to biking, this would be excellent for you. If you are not a club member and want to meet some of our ladies, and learn a few things - you are most welcome!
But if you are an old hand at biking you might want to re-learn these skills for extra confidence or un-learn some bad riding habits you've picked up over the years. Perhaps you've not been riding very often and are now not that confident anymore? OR if you've purchased a new bike and would like to become more familiar with it...
Cost: R110 non-members; R80 Paid-up Club members
Obviously if it rains on the day
the event will be postponed.
We plan to follow the training up on Sunday the 26th with a lovely local passes tour, incorporating a breakfast or brunch stop - weather permitting of course.
'''To Book''': Please email me on anne@abarc.co.za or feel free to call me on 082 421 0003.
Annie
A most valuable session this morning! Big thanks to Max and Neil for the training and to Annie for setting it all up. Not only did we learn more about our bike (mechanically AND how to put it on its centre stand!!) but our road skills show marked improvement. This course is recommended for all whether new or experienced. Bonus - you get to meet fellow lady riders! I look forward to the next session...
...at how many bad riding habits I'd picked up over the few years I've been riding! (all learnt by fear and error, mind you
).
I found the session most valuable, and thanks to Max and Neil who did an excellent job of taking us through our paces and being so patient.
There will definitely be more sessions - weather-permitting!
