Feb 28th 2010 - Cedarberg Oasis intermediate ride GROUP 2 REPORT
Sunday 28th February 2010.
What a way to end a month!!
I was priveleged tolead the 2nd group of 14 bikes from the Winelands Engen 1 Stop to the Cedarburg Oasis and home.
Sometimes you have a ride where everything just slots in & ‘clicks’.
This was one of them.
10 of the 14 riders were new to me and we’ve note ridden together before.
Our usual service crew was AWOL – and will be on orders on Monday, but hoofseun managed to get a wonderful service team together – Megan managing the pilot Nolene and her co-pilot Di.

Wild Wild West...... Coast May 2009
It was a rainy miserable day on the public holiday of the 1st May 2009 at 6am to meet a CRAZY bunch of high adventure seekers at the Engen one stop on the N7.
Giz and I had bike problems which delayed us in joining the group but later that arvie joined up in Vanrhynsdorp after they had finished lunch.
Only once we fell in, did we start relaxing and enjoying the outing.
Geoff informs me there were 19 bikes, three pillions and with Abie and his son John totaled 25 people at Jurg se Kaia.
This is the picture of the wild, wild west ......................coast tour of May 2009: Its always always about the people
Leisurely Trip Around Lesotho
Sunrise
Our partners in crime on the second bike are from Sedgefield and since they had not experienced Tradouw or the Country Pumpkin, we met up at Buffeljags BP filling station
Our unplanned holiday.
Well, it all started about 9 months ago. With a big smilish-blush, my colleague announced that she is expecting her second. Soon after all the excitement and congratulations died down, I started to recall her first pregnancy and one prominent fact about that time kept repeating itself in my head. I was very busy for four months and could not take any leave during that time. I love my leave… It was the ideal opportunity to do it slightly different this time round. You know, learn from your experiences. First, convince the powers that be that we need to expand our small department of two people to three. Four months later: Mission accomplished. Next step: Plan some leave before the big rush.

OUT REACH - Wild Coast 2008
OUTREACH WILD COAST 2008
Led into the Dwesa Nature Reserve by Geoff Russell and his merry men and women to do a deed that I think was quite special and needs to be mentioned as one story with in another.
This good will deed made Giz,I and I'm certain all the others in our group to experience that nice fuzzy feeling inside your tummy when you do something good for your fellow mankind.
At the initial briefing at Geoff's home he informed us that the last time he was in the Dwesa Nature Reserve he was guided through the nature reserve by a delightful young local man who was dressed in civilian clothes. It was then and there that Geoff decided to do the following.
Another weekend on the GS's
Our weekend trip on the GS’s
On Saturday 12th April, we woke early for a lazy weekend at home.
But a few hours later, after the umpteenth BMW passed my house- by God there are now very many BM’s passing my house all day- my palms began to itch so Annie n I packed our bikes for an overnight out in the cuds and of we went…….
I just spent a week on a business trip in the North and was travelled out totally.
But as my bum left the saddle and the wind vented through my jacket I realised it was the hire car that had tired me.
Energy filled my body as we glided out of Gordon’s Bay following the front wheel. It took us to GK’s pad who had Brendan with him fitting a shock to his GS, so no go there and we continued out of town…….towards Stellenbosch.
