I was on the bike 6 March 2010, the day Melbourne had the worst freak storm ever, and somebody snapped a photo with me and Taryn on the bike.

It's an email floating around, no idea who took the picture(s) or who made the slide show Laughing

Thank heavens for ATTGATT

Those hailstones must have hurt!

Impressive that you guys are riding in that weather, but why are you breaking rule #1 when crossing water: stand up! ?  If you fall when sitting there is a greater chance of getting trapped under the bike and drowning, than there would be if you were standing.  Not to mention that standing means less chance of falling, and better visibility into the water ahead of you.

Still, cool shot of you both.  Nice presentation also except for the cheesy comment at the end - still coming from an "us against nature" perspective...

We were lucky to miss the hail... The hail came down only in a few places...

It was a hectic storm, the water came down like a river! We nearly
came off the bike at one point... I think I went over a curb or something but luckily I managed to keep my cool, I
relaxed and kept the power on the bike... all those rides next to the
Darling train track helped me :-)

I know we should have stood up but at that point the rain was pelting me from the front and I had to open my visor to see... so I was hiding behind the bike screen... it was the only way I managed to sort of see where I was going :-)
