The boss and I are looking to do a bike trip around New Zealand early next year. Does anyone out there have any experience and or knowledge of bike rentals etc that could help?

Thanks

CorneAUS + Cloud's brother...

Hi Chris

I know CorneAUS lives in Tasmania - so he MIGHT know of some outfits that do touring on the North/South island.

And Cloudgazer's brother runs a bike hire company in Cyprus, and MAY have international connections?

Not much to go on, but a starting point!

Cheers

Bike trip in NZ

Hi Chris,

A friend of mine was also thinking about doing something similar and initial cost estimates for bike rental is about R1500 per day; just to get you working on a budget so long.

NZ North Island a bit dodgy

Hey Chris,

A good place to also post your question is on ADVRider http://www.advrider.com/. You will get some good feedback.

Personally I don't know anybody in NZ however I have heard that riding on the North Island, north of Auckland, can be dodgy. I've heard stories of touring motorcyclists being robbed and raided.

You can always come to Tassie Laughing Awesome place for riding and the people are very friendly! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdsE_3aEfJE

I know these people, they do rentals on mainly BMWs
