Members who ride a 1200GS
Hi, I am Jaco Marais and live in Somerset-West. I commute dayly to Stellenbosch on my Dakar. Married to Suzanne and have two sons, Stephaan(5yrs) and Cobus(3yrs). I have been riding Duel purpose bikes for many years and enjoy offroad riding as it brings me closer to "nature" My moto while doiing offroad - if I can't take in the scenery, I am problebly goiing to fast.

My wife and I are really enjoying the 1200 after upgrading from 650's three years ago.

Did roof of africa 1985 Had 650gs for one year. Ihave now had 1200gs for one year the best i have ever had. A young 63 years old married.
I have bought the 1200GS a year ago after commuting in Gauteng with my F650GS. I use it for business appointments as well as road trips. After moving to the Paarl area 6 months ago, I really started to enjoy riding amongst the beautifull scenery and on the good road network.

Im 42 yrs old, single. Ive done road-biking for 10 yrs, but started offroading 2 yrs ago, working my way up thru 650,800 and now 1200Gs (ironically the easiest of the lot)
I've biked to Namibia (mostly South) and did BIKEFEST 2011, where Die Hell was an incredible challenge and fun.
Chris Els - been a GS rider for 5 years - for the light gravel stuff. A DRZ 400 for the real nasty stuff - granite but has to be standard if you intend covering anything longer than 10km's on the saddle......

I'm Roland Giesler and live in Stellenbosch. My 1200GS is my primary mode of transport. As a small business owner I ride mostly to my clients all over the Western Cape.
Some of my friends here are bikers and recommended the 1200GS and I've never been sorry for one moment.
I have a family of 6 (including myself): Christy (24) - UTC Ballet post grad student, Matt (23) - Full time model, surfer and skate boarder, Faith (13) - Also ballerina, model and princess in general, Luke (11) - farmer, sports lover, musician and last but not least my soulmate, Lucia (44), mother of the clan, also small business owner (Aslan N&MI) and future biker (just doesn't have a bike yet, no other reason)
