Newbie, first get to grips with tar riding, then hitting the gravel!!! When I'm not making wine I'm hunting the coast for waves. Jean
Hi. The name is Christiaan, Afrikaans speaking, married with 2 kids. Love my Dakar and am convinced it is the most perfect all-purpose motorcycle out there.... Black-top to gravel, The Hell to Baviaans to the technical rough and loose stuff.... It's GREAT.
I'm 27 years old. I just bought my first real bike. I had a 180cc commuter bike for 18months and finally decided to upgrade. I would love to do weekend tours.
Hi. I am a classic midlife crisis single toppie. Would like to do some slow, long distance tours on quiet back roads. I find the Dakar is a bit more difficult to handle than the 250 Honda XL 250 I rode many years ago, so will need some training. Presently living in Nairobi, but will be back in Cape Town Jan 2010. Dick
Hi I'm Marius 30 years old and from Blouberg side of Town. Coming from a farming background and after studying, I went travelling. Came back to SA and studied again and it is only till recent that I managed to safe up the courage, money, time to persuite my passion and dream: To have my own Dakar. Looking forward to riding with all you Beemer fans and will definately see you guys soon. MH
I've never really owned a bike for every day use - I once briefly owned a Honda 250 2 stroke with which I travelled down to Cape Town from Uganda, and I had (have) an Enfield with which I toured the Himalayas for 6 weeks. Other than, I ride a Vespa. But now also own a Dakar. Yeeha.
