As with many guys my age I perceived BMW as an "Old Toppies" bike, but after experiencing the brand and its followers i soon came to relies that I am involved with an adventuress, exciting and Youthful product. My name is Manie van der Hoven. Live in Cape Town. Been on the F800GS for just over a year and a half now and had already writen off the first one. Thought I was doing much better on the gravel roads and sand patches, but unfortunately I was mistaken. On my second F800GS now, riding slower and still recovering from my last injuries....
Gave up riding when I sold my bike in 1988. Since then, career and family has filled the time. Bought an F650GS in 2007. Now the proud owner of an F800GS.
