Members who ride a R1200GS
Hi, I am a member of the Africa Twin Western Cape Club, of which most members now ride a GS. I also ride with Hamman Motorrad on their organised outrides. I have done 3 GAGSC's. Nelson's Creek 2008 was my first 'BMW Club' event I have attended. I thoroughly enjoyed the event and will certainly be back next year.
I currently ride a R1200GS, my second one, and previously owned a F650 Funduro, and before that a 250KLR, and before that a TS185. That was 28 years ago.

Hi, I am Hennie
I got myself a GS mainly for commuting daily from Strand (where I live) to Cape Town.
I hope to make new friends and share good times on the road.

My name is Kevin Tate. I am a Salvage Master with SMIT Salvage in Cape Town. I was previously at sea in the merchant Navy for 34 years. I bought my R1200GS in 2007 after riding a Yamaha XS1100 for 24 years. Also had a Honda 400N and a 1955 Matchless 500 single. All out to pasture now and only have the BMW.
I'm looking forward to making new friends with a passion for biking. Also keen to do some gravel road riding, which I have not done much of in the past. I've done plenty mileage on tar and intend to keep on doing so.
I am André van der Vyver, an independent Financial Advisor in Ladismith and also the owner of the farm, Zorgvliet, Ladismith. I am married and we have two sons. Cell 0834481448
Hi, I'm Willem Smith; married to Hanlie; have no kids, but a cat.
I'm a town planner and work for the Provincial Government.
I bought myself a GS in 2007 and taught myself to ride. In 2010 I bought a new GS which I intend riding for a few more years.
I don't like riding gravel roads and therefor stick to tar.
I'm Pete. My wife, Maria, and I are riding our two Triple Blacks on a round trip from Nairobi to Nairobi over 7 months. We've completed the south-bound journey to Cape Town via Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia and Namibia. We're now heading back to Nairobi via the Eastern seaboard of South Africa to Mozambique, Malawi abd Tanzania. I'm originally from Johannesburg and Maria is English. We'll fly our bikes back to the UK from Nairobi. Pity the troubles kicked off in northern Africa just as we were about to leave Cambridge as we'd have liked to have ridden door to door.

I am Oscar van Zyl and have been a BMW Club member since 1978 and still
enjoy the club events and especially the out rides and long rides.
I started riding in 1950 and my first bike was a Triumph Thunderbird 650.
Had several small bikes and eventually saw the light in 1978 when I bought my first but not last BMW which was a R80
I started off with buying Dakar back in 2005. Initially I only used it for commuting, but after a year or two it all became about just riding as much as possible, taking the long way home and hitting the road on weekends. Since I upgrade to a R1200GS, I now take even longer routes home every day...
UK based rider with designs on coming to ride in the cape and surrounding areas. Need to find out how I can buy a tidy bike for resale ofter one month of touring

My name is Steve Thomas.I am 44 years old and have been riding bikes since I was 16 (sadly with a break of a number of years - about 20). However that is now water under the bridge.
I am married to Lenferna and have 2 kids - Dan is 10 and Luke is 18 and at UCT.
I am a competent rider and am looking forward to doing the off road course when the timing suits.

I like on-off road touring, seeing places I would otherwise not visit.
I have recently purchased a 2010 R1200GS, primarily for commuting between Pretoria and JHB after not riding for over 10 years.
