Members who ride a R1200GS Adventure
Club member, formerly on an old R100RS, joined the off-road fraternity on an 1150GS. Graduated to the 1200 GSA for a safari from Dar es Salaam to Cape Town in 2009. Read all about it on www.blurb.com: "Suidelike Safari" (Anton Steenkamp).
I work to live not live to work. I am married to a wonderful woman, Alison, and have 2 beautiful boys, Dominic 6 and Nicolas 2. I have had an 18 year gap of no bike and no riding and now at 40 find myself reunited with that fantastic free spirit feeling you get when riding your bike. The best part is my wife enjoys the riding with me. That's it in a nut shell. Safe riding always.
Hi, my name is Frans Coetsee, I'm 51 years young, happily married to a wife who lets me ride, three sons, ages 16, 19 and 28; the two older ones also bike-mad, at least one of them rides a GS1200... Live in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, at the foot of Ou Kaapse Weg and commute to work (Century City) on the GS Adventure every day, rain or shine, as it was meant to be! Other interests include golf, motorsport and flying. Once a year I organise a long distance bike tour with my friends (most of them on BM's) and the long term goal is for my sons and I to ride across the whole of Europe on GS Adventure bikes....(yes, Mom knows about this plan!)
Hi, my name is Ian Steyn. I stay in Durbanville and commute on the bike to work (city) almost every day. Weekends the Adventure does what it does best - going off-road! I love getting off the tar and is always keen on exploring new gravel roads.

For the last 5 years I have been riding an original '96 CBR 900 RR Urban Tiger Fireblade.
Just upgraded to the Adventure.
Very impressive bike, but I have to keep reminding myself that it is not a superbike, but a SUPER bike.
