BMW MCC 9 day 8 night Tour for the "Roadies" : 3rd to 11th September : Fully booked
I have put together an 8 night - 9 day tour for the "Roadies". The Tour would mean taking 1 weeks leave and it would be from a Saturday to the following Sunday.
It is Pillion friendly and we will be staying in Hotels/Lodges & or similar accommodation on a DB&B basis.
It will be a nice leisurely ride cruising at around 120kph GPS speed!
Lunches, drinks, snacks, fuel for your own expense.
The approximate distance of the Tour will be around 3500kms and will include riding the most expensive road built in SA that will have you begging me to allow you to ride it 10 more times, as well as lots of breathtaking lovely scenery, lots of mountain passes, a visit to Port St Johns and its 30km's of biker heaven, the Drakensberg, the new road to Matatiele, and much, much more.
The dates are confirmed as 3rd to 11th September 2011.
Obviously it would be open to GS riders as there are lots of them who never leave the tar.
A guesstimate of cost would be around R5000.00 per person with out a back up vehicle.
Please respond to this e mail using your name and an e mail address or e mail me on russell@aroma.co.za
I look forward to your responses.
Geoff
Yes, we're interested!
Chantal says we should consider this, at least she won't be full of dust at the end of a day's riding...
Dates are as follows :
3rd to 11th September
Revised (unconfirmed) costing after preliminary costings with NO back up vehicle:
R5000 PP DB&B.
Check your diaries and mark the dates.
Geoff

I am very much interested. Sounds great!

Please confirm your bookings.
John and Des confirmed
Hi Geoff
Confirmed for tour.
Regards H
See booking list for your confirmation.
Confirmed tentitivly. It depends largly on my exame dates.
September seems soooo far away, but as they say - part of the pleasure is in the anticipation.
This may have been a forum topic in the past, considering that the "GS Brigade" seems so dominant. To have a full-on "roadie" trip is really great. Thank you Geoff
.
Thanks Henri,
The response has been very encouraging and if the confirmed bookings turn into payments it looks as if we will have a full Tour.
However the Club is looking at more "road" orientated rides that if well supported will become a regular occurrence.
However without the support of the "roadies" this initiative will fall flat so we hope that it gets the desired support.
Geoff

We are leaving for this Tour on Saturday. Much excitement amongst the group as we ready ourselves for departure.
Should be a good one!!
and have a blast!
Looking forward to the tour , thanks Geoff for all your pre-trip organisation and regular communication updates , cheers
Can't wait for Saturday to arrive. Bike is now in the sleeping mode after it has been cleaned, bolts checked for tightness, oil topped up, etc. (As per the Geoff list of "to do" desription).
2 more sleeps!
Am I interested? Silly question. We all are!
You already have my deposit.
All I need are the dates.
Can't wait.
Option 1.
Im in.
