Geoff Russell
Annual Tour: Oudtshoorn Kleinplaas dual ride
Advanced "OFF ROAD" ride Sunday 15th January with Geoff Russell - (Cancelled)
The longer serving members will remember how often we had the Club's more ADVANCED Off Road Day rides and they were always very popular.
I have been receiving requests again to arrange another one. This ride will not suit beginners or even semi beginners. It is aimed at the above average rider.
The inevitable question I get is "how bad is the route"? Well not bad at all in fact it is merely that we leave Cape Town early in the morning (after a Wimpy breakfast) and we get home in the late afternoon/early evening and we stop very seldom along the way.
Jurg se Kaya 2011 trip report
"Be afraid. Be very afraid." It was the pre-trip get-together at Geoff's house, and Geoff had the floor. And no, Geoff was not talking about the sandy parts of the trip - it was the strafdoppe he was warning us about. But more about that later.
The trip to Jurg se Kaya on the West Coast is one of those 'must do' trips on the club's calendar. This year was no different, and the trip filled up within a matter of hours.

Oh no, not another one - A personal perspective of the Oct 2011 Eastern Cape Off Road Tour
I held back on starting a trip report just in case Rusty's report grew into something like the Namibian trip report. That doesn't seem likely now so here goes.
As before I will do a little bit every day until I eventually finish.
Here are just a few general comments before I get started.

What makes a "good" dual sport adventure "GREAT"?
And why is it always about the group of people with their individual characters and group dynamics that always seem to make these rides so.........."lakka"?
Jammin' to Jamaka - GS Mystery Weekend Trip Photo's.
So the weekend of the 23rd -24th of July brought a lil' mystery to our soul. There is something about setting off in the morning and not knowing where you are going - I believe exhilirating would be the right word.
Story in Pictures - BMWCC Laid Back GS off road lunch ride to Moorreesburg 10 July.
On a personal level, today's off-road trip boasted some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen - from wild horses and thier foal to some amazing landscape views - BUT the BEST part was - we could all experience this while on the motorbikes.
The ride to Moorresburg, which was carefully organized by Geoff Russel and Warren Ellwood (who was also the sweeper of the day) was full of dirt, dust and loads of potholes. But it was also breathtaking and exhilirating.
