Theft during the Club meeting last night
Vernon Bosch had the following stolen out of his car last night while it was parked right outside the Club House. If any of you saw anything please contact him urgently :
Brand new laptop - less than a week old
Digital Camera
2X cell phones
Company cheque books
Purse containing things like ID cards, firearm licences, credit cards, etc.
All of this was in a Lap Top bag behind his drivers seat.
He was not insured.
Sorry to hear it Vernon. This is not the first time cars have been broken into at the clubhouse. Other clubs employ security for their club meetings.
Perhaps we should start looking at an alternative venue. We've spoken about it before because our numbers have increased, maybe this is another reason.
Shocking news! Sorry to hear Vernon!
Really sorry to hear that Vernon !! Not nice at all !!
this is hectic - I had a laptop stolen in December, and it's hectic replacing the data.
Was unaware of the past thefts, actually thought the Clubhouse was in quite a cool area, though I know crime can strike anywhere, anyplace.
Sorry to hear of your loss, Vernon.
My surfski club employs a car-guar whilst we are out paddling, no salary, tips only, and he makes good money for 2 - 3 hours work, worth considering?
That's terrible!!! Really sorry to hear...
Vernon that is bad, bad news, sorry to hear.
Entrapment is illegal in America but not in South africa.
I suggest we set up a few cars as traps with early warning system to the members in the club and be on alert until such time as we have caught them. Once we have them I will deal with them as the SAPS have no effect on petty crime in my belovered country.
Alternatively you could use Ruslamere's big venue wich can seat 120 max, however the cost and running of my establishment can only be absorbed by myself for a while and we would need to meet with the exco or have one or two meetings there once or twice to see if the venue will mutually work for both parties.
Ive made this offer a few times before and will make it again, my venue is available on a trial basis.
My parking is secure, my drinks are expensive but negotiable and I run an up market, graded four star, slick oporation. My questions are ................. would you like to meet with me or do a test run? call me? Russ 0823039326.
I will PM you Russ.
Once we have them I will deal with them as the SAPS have no effect on petty crime in my belovered country.
That comment smacks of vigilantism, and thats illegal....

but so is stealing. Vigilantism is taking the law into your own hands. Catching a thief and handing him over to the authorities is community policing...

Granted, but I don't think Russ plans on handing 'em over
Need some help !!
How can I get hold of Vernon ?? Anyone knows his new cell phone no. or home no. ??
Send him "PM" he should respond to that.
Sorry to hear that Vernon!!
Rusty is only going to sit him down, and explain to the thief nicely why you should not take another persons property. Nothing wrong with some education.
An alternative could be to use the Milnerton Aquatic Club which is in Tableview. Great location, controlled access, very cheap bar.
Plans are not to move at this stage as we have only had 2 or 3 theft instances in the past 5 years or so.
