WANTED GS1200 Tank Bag
I have a colleague looking for a tank bag for a GS1200.
Phone Brett 082 339 7700
Just 13 hours ago in this very same section of the forum Gazza advertised a tank bag for sale - just get it from him...
I am sorry is this a problem? has my one question overlaoded the system? I simply put the request in as a favour to a colleague, I did in fact see the ads below only afterwards but I thought it would not matter, as I gave my colleague the details.
You may delete the post in its entirety if it causes offence.
It's just a bit of netiquette - when you post on a public forum you are potentially asking thousands to give up a few seconds to read the post. No problem with that except if it is obvious that you haven't even tried to help yourself first.
I know what a nuisance it is posting stuff for others also - the forum is open and they should just do it themselves - instead, you try to get it up quickstix and end up getting it in the ear from the webmaster. I get so many emails asking me to just post this or that for them, that I no longer even have the moed to tell them why I can't/won't do it - I just delete the email, or if I am particularly generous I tell them to do it themselves.
I know how you feel Phast Phred - this toxic attitude amongst certain members is the reason that I no longer pay my club fees or want to be a member. I too have had "the treatment" when using this site. Watch this space - I am quite sure a bucket of acid is coming my way !
Wow poor dude...with the new format its easy to miss a post that's 12 hours old Charles
Why not rather say something about the bad language being used on the forum etc etc
Well I am just putting this down to experience, I understand the problem that Charles highlighted, I was just a little disappointed in the manner in which I was addressed.
Phast Phred - I am not particularly woolly and soft and fluffy. I was addressing the issue and not you personally. My feedback is intended for others on the forum who may be making the same mistake. I try to be factual in my comments, but unfortunately can have a bit of an edge in my turn of phrase. I also find that public fora tend to lead to heated discussion as a result of ego.
You made an honest mistake. I highlighted it. Things got heated. We both calmed down and chalked it up to experience. No problem.
Thanks for being so gracious about it.
Thanks that's fine, life is too short to get burned up over the small stuff.
Just for the sake of the thread ....I also want a Tank bag (....if it is a bargain!
)
...but what I actually wants to say: I visit some other open forum sites as well, and thus far is proud to say that one usually gets treated respectfully on this forum....
My experience on some other sites is that people's (men?) ego's are quite big and it shows in their language and their impatient attitudes...as if the world only operates as they perceive it!
Now - if I only can find that bargain of a tank bag!
