Waving
23 December 2009 - 3:34pm
Now I'm a pretty laid back easy going type of person and try to remain cheerful even when severley provoked, but I draw the line when I get a middle finger from a fellow motorcyclist just because I am a bit slow to react to a greeting.
Thankfully I am gifted with a pretty vivid imagination. So in my imagination, I turn and follow this heathen until he stops, at which point I administer a charecter evolving snotklap to the side of the head. I felt much better after that!
So, to the cretin on the maroon Jonway scooter on Langeberg Road yesterday evening : Be careful with your fingers, otherwise the return greeting could be sore!
Almost makes me not want to greet scooters anymore.

Much like Charles, I try to wave at all 2 wheeled riders, even scooters, but I am yet to get a return greeting from one. Maybe it's an inferiority complex? ;) The friendliest bikers in my book are the delivery guys, they always wave back and strike up conversation at traffic lights, not just a mere nod of the head.

While riding along on the highway yesterday, an oncoming motorcyclist flashed his lights at us and then proceeded to wave at us as he got closer and passed us in the opposite direction, only to see that it was a guy on "wait for it" a Harley. Wow! This took us by surprise but we waved back and went on our merry way. Just shows, those guys on Harleys do wave or acknowledge others.
