the way to travel
This is the way I would like to travel one day. It even comes with its own trailer. Sorry I could not get the full picture as I had to turn down by Plett and I did not want to come to close to them when taking the pics. They where cruising at a nice speed too - +-110km/h.
The rider and pillion looked so comfortable specially with the body gaurd watching all the time for suspicious characters coming to close.
Thats just wrong - on so many levels.
What kind of person lets their lunch out of their tank bag?
Although if that tankbag contains a baguette, some tomatoes and mayo - that dog would be very tasty indeed
Saw them at the Buff, nice to see... and MAN!! did that wors have attitude!
AAH! You have discovered my one weakness. Dachshunds. Produce a dachshund and I am putty for the little guy/girl. This is SO CUTE!
Just heard about the eldest couple at the buff, may be them, who had an accident on the way home, sadly the wife died.
Can anyone confirm?
Wasn't them Rhian!
Many of you may know the rider, Des Pistorius (75). Well known in the biking community. Rides a Goldwing (done some ridiculous mileage on it) and was always accompanied by his little Maltese, Widget. Widget died a few years ago and he got a new brak, Boswell, that rides everywhere with him now. He arrived with Boswell and a lady friend (79) at the Buff this year. She (the lady friend) won the prize for Oldest Lady at the Buff. Sadly he had an accident on the way home and the lady friend was killed. Boswell is OK. Des ended up in a hospital in PE with a broken leg and pelvis fracture I think. He has since been discharged and returned to Durban where he lives.
He did an advert for a Kwacker 1400GTR I think. It's on the bottom of the cover page of the latest 2 Wheels Magazine.......he is dressed like a priest!
Apparently the accident happened on Sunday afternoon between 14:00 and 15:00 on the R42 between the Nanaga turnoff and Alexandria in the Eastern-Cape on their way to Melvern in Durban.
The accident happened on a very sharp turn on the road where roadworks was ongoing. Apparently there was no sign indicating that they were busy working on the road. There was only one lane open at the time of the accident.
In another incident a 55 year old resident from Lake-side in Cape Town lost control over his grey R1150 gs in a sharp turn on the R328 on his way to the Buff on Friday afternoon. Mr Gareth McOwen is still in hospital after his left leg had to be amputated below the knee.
