Autocom for me

Got a system that lets Julie and me listen to music while riding, chat to each other, receive and make calls on my cell.  It will also plug into a walkie-talkie for long-range comms between bikes and/or backup vehicle, and the guy from autocom is registering a license and frequency that will allow all bikes to be on the same frequency and legal.

Our trips have become much more fun since I put in the autocom.

bike comms

Hi Craig

Ive had them all and believe the Autocom system is the only way to go.

Give Kobus Raath a call at 0832586601.

He is the Autocom specialist and will install it and set it up for you.

I hope this helps. If not come and see me and I will show you all the makes and models.

Kind regards

Rusty

I love my Interphone

I love my Interphone F4 Bluetooth unit. Works a charm and no wires. It needs charging though, but it is a very convenient unit. Can also connect to all of the Phones, music, GPS, Ipods, intercoms etc

Edit: R1600 for single unit. You will need two to have the intercom effect of the wired systems. Only nice difference is that you dont have to be on the same bike for intercom and you have a 500m range.

What about Baer?

I have just won a rider/pillion unit from Baer at the BMW Bike Fest!  Can you believe it?  I must be the luckiest guy alive: my wife, my bike, my friends, my record at lucky draws.  Now the dilemma - do I replace my Autocom with Baer, or do I sell the Baer and keep the Autocom?

Ja Charles you are indeed a lucky feller. Do Bear have a local service agent? My opinion, service and stick with what you know. It's no good having the Rolls Royce and no local back up.

You should go to the Buff

You should go to the Buff next year Charles. They do a lucky draw with the main prize being R100 000, yes that is one hundred thousand rand. I'll only charge you 10% of your winning for this information. LOL

Sena SMH10

A bit more info that may be of interest regarding the Sena SMH 10

The Sena is currently rated the #1 headset by numerous independent reviewers abroad.
A Google search will validate this.

Webike World  rated it no1 in their comparison tests.

Here are some of the results and comments from the Webike World review:

The SMH10 intercom is the standard for other systems to match or beat.  Typical link ranges, under ideal and even degraded conditions can be in excess of 1000 metres down to around 800 metres.

The SMH10 is a real minimalist with regards to its controls.  It has one real button, the "Phone Button", which when used in conjunction with the Jog Dial seemingly turns the system on or off instantly.  This button is also used for pairing purposes.  The only other control is hard to miss and an absolute joy to use.

The multi-function Jog Dial represents absolute simplicity.  Along with the Phone Button it powers the system on or off, initiates intercom and AVRCP controls and, adjusts the volume (forward for down and back for up).  For ease of access and control, even while wearing heavy lobster-claw gloves, it cannot be beaten.

In another forward-thinking step, each SMH10 kit includes a small 12V DC adapter that allows the system to be used and charged while on the road.
